About me

I am Mimoza Veliu, a photographer and author of Albanian heritage, based in Berlin. My photographic works have been exhibited in Berlin, Vienna, New York, and Tirana — both in solo and group shows — always with the intention of touching people on a deeper, more emotional level. I was honored to receive the Gjon Mili Art Prize from the National Gallery of Kosovo, a special recognition that encouraged me at the very beginning of my artistic journey.

From 2015 to 2025, I ran in Berlin the gallery Jammin, which I founded myself — a space that was far more than just a gallery: it became a place of encounter, exchange, and inspiration. For over a decade, art was exhibited, literature was read, music was played and shared — always with the goal of building bridges between people and cultures.

Alongside photography, writing is my great passion. I am the author of the novel The Second Wave, and another book is set to be published later this year. For me, writing means turning my gaze inward, while photography directs it outward — two paths that complement and enrich one another.
